Ceramic membranes based on natural aluminosilicates using annealed rice husk and iron, manganese, and zirconium salts have been obtained. It has been shown that addition of small amounts of iron, manganese, and zirconium salts as compared with vermiculite, zeolite, rice husk, and sodium silicate plays considerable role in the formation of ceramics and provides significant effect on its properties. Effect of manganese and zirconium ratio on membrane hardness and throughput has been studied. It has been shown that the high content of rice husk in ceramics leads to the growth of specific surface area and specific inner volume but the sharp decrease of hardness. Data of positron annihilation spectroscopy (PAS) has revealed dependences between mechanical strength, throughput, and the size of traps and positronium lifetime, which are related to porosity and intensity of positronium annihilation.
